What we take on
A garage converts once what makes it uninhabitable is dealt with: damp in the floor, cold walls, no ventilation. We check the slab, the walls and the access, then agree the scope of the work with you.
We then rework partitions, insulation, electricity, heating and finishes. A door or window can replace the garage door. Depending on the conversion, a permit may be needed: we point out the steps to check with your municipality.

The questions we hear most often before quoting.
Often yes: the use of the room changes, and sometimes the facade if the garage door is replaced. Rules differ by municipality and region. We point out what to have checked before work starts.
We start by understanding where the water comes from: rising damp from the slab, infiltration through the walls, condensation from a lack of ventilation. The treatment differs in each case — barrier, drainage, ventilation, insulation. Without a diagnosis, insulation fitted too early traps the moisture.
The price depends on the floor area, the state of the floor and walls, insulation, the services to be created and the new opening. A dry room costs less than a damp volume that has to be dried out first. The quote details each item.
The 6% rate applies to renovating a private home more than ten years old, used as a dwelling for more than 50%, when the contractor invoices the end consumer and materials and labour appear on the same invoice. Other situations are at 21%. The exact conditions are set by the FPS Finance.
